VINYASA YOGA: Vinyasa Yoga links together traditional hatha yoga poses into creative sequences. Vinyasa flow builds heat in the body, removing toxins and stimulating the cardiovascular system. Postures can be modified based on your experience level. YOGA BASICS: These hatha yoga classes are ideal for beginners as well as more advanced students who would like to explore more subtle aspect s of yoga and methods of technique and alignment in a variety of poses. You will move through a balanced selection of postures that will invigorate, revitalize and restore the body, calming the mind and awakening the spirit. Appropriate for beginning to advanced students.
GENTLE YOGA: Gentle Yoga is a slower paced yet well rounded hatha yoga practice appropriate for people of all sizes, ages and fitness levels. There is a focus on balancing the systems of the body, promoting joint mobility, stimulating glands and calming the nervous system. These classes support people with limitations, creating an atmosphere of safety, that fosters self-acceptance and self-love. Great for beginners to advanced students.
ASHTANGA YOGA: This class takes you through the led primary series of hatha yoga as sequenced by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The main direction of the class will be on the primary series, offering modifications when necessary. The asanas (postures) are linked using the breath, bandhas (energy gates) and dristi (focal points) to move through a flow which builds natural heat in the body and quiets the mind. This practice improves strength and flexibility and is appropriate for strong beginners to advanced students.
ASHTANGA / MYSORE: The Mysore method is named for the city where Sri K Pattabhi Jois lives and teaches. Following in the tradition of the Ashtanga Practice it is a supervised self practice where each individual is taught the sequence starting with the Primary Series at their own pace. Beginners are welcome and each student will move through the series at their own level. Transformational hands on adjustments are given bringing a greater understanding of the poses. This class has a flexible start and end time so you can arrive, practice and leave at a pace that works for your body and time schedule.
MORNING FLOW: An excellent way to start the day. This early morning flow is designed open the body and center the mind. Classical sun salutations lead the way to a variety of poses linking breath and movement. Following a short corpse pose, a seated meditation completes the class cultivating a still mind and greater sense of peace. All are welcome!
LUNCH FLOW: This is an all levels hatha yoga class. The poses are linked together in various rhythms and sequences, first building strength and flexibility and then taking you into restorative bliss. A perfect mid-day gift for body, mind and soul!
KID YOGA: This class is for boys and girls, K-6, of all athletic abilities and degrees of flexibility. Kids get to practice a wide range of yoga poses, play non-competitive games, and experience relaxation and stillness. Children cultivate awareness, strength, flexibility, focus, self-discipline, and emotional balance in a fun and creative environment. RELAX & RENEW: This restorative yoga class calms the nervous system and brings deep healing to the body. When we experience stress, the systems of our body shut down. By promoting a profound state of relaxation our organs, glands and nervous system are restored to their natural balance. The nurturing atmosphere melts tension and anxiety, leaving you completely revitalized.
